    Hospital Clinicals

We're now starting our hospital clinical for paramedic school. My first one was on Monday. I was in the I.C.U. It's the critical care area of the hospital... a place where some of the patients with the worst injuries and illnesses are sent to recover.  Over the course of the day I spent my time focusing on 3 patients. One patient with a pulmonary embolism, another with a flail chest, and one woman suffering from a diabetic acidosis. The rest of the week I'll be in the ER.

hey!  i haven't gotten to be on in a while, so i'm trying to catch up... medic school... wow! that's awesome!  just don't miss it so much you end up doing what my husband does most of the time... he's coming in from work at 5:00pm today and he's been on since 8:00 am sunday morning... yeah, that's almost 60 hours.  he justifies it because it's a slow station, and he got 6 hours of sleep sunday night (all in one stretch even!).  but anyway... do a great job, like we all know you will and pace yourself!  you'll get those intebations in no time!
